If you have a Tatler magazine subscription, you have probably just received the January issue, featuring Audrey Hepburn on the cover.
Hepburn was famously one of the most beautiful actresses on the planet, but another actress – who isn’t best known for looking feminine and glamorous – is Miranda Hart who is also featured in the magazine.
The Tatler team have given the comedienne a makeover, giving her a longer dark wig, and couture clothing. While the editor praised the new look, Miranda was less sure saying: “I think it’s more Claudia Winkleman meets Samantha Cameron meets Princess Anne. With added Cher.”
She has never been bothered by looks, admitting that she’s always known she’s not the most beautiful person in the world, but she’s happy about it. “I’ve seen those ladies – the need to be attractive at all times is ghastly,” she says. “Also, in your 20s, if you are beautiful, everything comes to you, so you never need to develop a personality. I never had that problem.”
She even gives readers a great beauty tip: “I have a fantastic method for anti-ageing. It’s eating. Plumps out your skin beautifully.”
The actress turns 40 next month, and still holds out hope for meeting the right man for her. So who would be her ideal man?
“Someone tall. Who really, really makes me laugh. I do need to have uncontrollable hysterics quite often.”
