This week at iSUBSCRiBE we’ve been checking our calendar to see what’s going on in 2012 and discovered that today is World Maths Day. Some of you may not have done maths since your school days, though those of you with a Sudoku magazine subscription actually do maths all the time!
Set up as a whole event beginning yesterday, the World Education Games is an event for all schools around the world to participate in with the aim to get students excited about learning – and a little bit of healthy competition for good measure.
Yesterday was World Spelling Day, today is World Maths Day and tomorrow is World Science Day. In order to join in all students are given their own personal online Games centre, which they can log into and participate in all three events where they will be competing against three other students from around the world.
The events are held in order to raise money for UNICEF, so not only is it educational, but it’s all for a good cause too! Many schools are taking part, so if you have children, they may well be joining during their maths class today. If you miss the days when you used to give your brain a good work out with a maths problem then why not take out a Sudoku magazine subscription?
