Good Homes magazine recommends going for statement walls in a working space.
It advises teaming "plain white furniture with a stunning backdrop to create a working space that will always inspire".
"Track down designer lookalike furniture on the high street and keep your accessories in monochrome shades with one accent colour," the magazine adds.
Using ribbon shelves can help reduce clutter in a home office, according to Good Homes magazine.
It recommends using the shelving with a decorative cabinet in a working space - adding seasonal blooms, postcards and a lamp for a touch of personalisation.
Recently, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development said employees should all be given the right to request flexible working, which could result in more people turning spare rooms into office space in their homes.
