Anyone with a Kitchen Garden magazine subscription will be able to read how planting a fruit tree in the UK could help farmers in Africa.
TREE AID is a development agency trying to make a difference by challenging UK residents to plant a fruit tree in the country, which it will match in Africa, helping some of the poorest nations in the world, reports Kitchen Garden magazine.
What you need to do to take part is find some land to plant the tree - using landshare.net, you can find available places near to you.
Then you have to buy a tree. According to Kitchen Garden magazine, you should do this through Blackmoor Nurseries, as it has an agreement with TREE AID, meaning ten per cent of the purchase cost goes to the campaign.
Then, once you've done both those things, you need to plant your tree. If you sign up to www.treerevolution.org.uk, you can get tips on how to care for your plant.
According to the agency's website, TREE AID has introduced its Tree Revolution campaign to transform the lives of people in Africa and reduce deforestation in the country.
