Anyone with an Ideal Home magazine subscription who is looking to decorate their homes could benefit from top painting tips in the publication.
The magazine has some advice on choosing the right paint and equipment to update your property.
Ideal Home magazine suggests finding the right kind of brush or roller is as crucial as the paint you opt for.
"Go for the best quality you can afford - you'll get a better finish and need fewer coats," it advises.
When you are painting walls and ceilings, rollers and pads are the best option as they help you cover bigger areas.
You can't do without a brush, however. According to Ideal Home magazine, you need different-sized brushes to 'cut in' along the edges of surfaces before you use a roller or pad.
"Match your brush to the paint you're using: for water-based choose synthetic bristles - they don't absorb paint, leaving no brush marks; for oil-based paints, go for natural bristles which will stand up to repeated cleaning in white spirit," it recommends.
According to paintquality.co.uk, you'll benefit from better coverage and it's easier to clean surfaces if you opt for a high-quality product.
