Anyone looking to turn their attic into a study who has a House Beautiful magazine subscription will be in luck.
One of the experts at House Beautiful magazine has some top tips which may well help you out.
Before jumping straight in and deciding on a loft conversion, House Beautiful magazine expert Gareth Bridges recommends checking to see whether you'll need to get planning permission first.
He said: "Make sure there's sufficient headroom - some roofs have low pitches making loft space unusable [for a study]."
The House Beautiful magazine expert also recommended ensuring there is adequate insulation in the loft, if you'll be working in it, and check whether it's possible to put a new staircase in to get up to the attic as well.
"Additional floor space will usually add at least the same value to your property so it should be a worthwhile project," Bridges said.
Recently, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development called for all employees to be offered flexible working, which could lead to more people trying to update their attic to create new working spaces.
