Prince William and Lady Gaga Talk Mental Heath

The Duke of Cambridge chatted to Mother Monster over FaceTime about the Heads Together #oktosay campaign…

It’s certainly one of the oddest couples: Prince William and Lady Gaga, but the peculiar pair have teamed up to talk about mental health for a new campaign, Heads Together's #oktosay fronted by the Duke.

Wills had asked the pop star to get involved after she wrote an open letter last year, revealing she has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The video – which was released on the Duke’s official Facebook page – comes just days after his brother Harry opened up about the shattering effect that their mother Princess Diana’s death had on the pair. William has since pledged to ensure his children ‘grow up feeling able to talk about their emotions’, saying that it has been taboo or weak to talk about personal issues for too long.

In the film Prince William said: “It's time that everyone speaks up and really feels very normal about mental health, it's the same as physical health.

“Everybody has mental health and we shouldn't be ashamed of it and just having a conversation with a friend or family member can really make such a difference. It's really important to have this conversation and that you won't be judged. It's so important to break open that fear and that taboo which is only going to lead to more problems down the line.”
