BBC Good Food reveals survey of the “Michelin Man”

Get Dad a culinary-treat this Father's Day!

According to the survey of 1,261 respondents, the achievement that would make male respondents most proud would be cooking a restaurant quality meal at home (36%), trumping learning a foreign language and using it on holiday (33%), learning to play an instrument (27%) and driving a fast time in a sports car (23%).

According to BBC Good Food Magazine Editor Gillian Carter: “Our survey really uncovers the emerging trend of men defining themselves by their cooking ability, a generation we are dubbing ‘Michelin man’. This is a generation of men more proud to cook a restaurant quality meal, than learn an instrument or score a cup--winning goal. However on the flip side, women are still responsible for more day to day food chores, with men showing a little less enthusiasm for this side of things.” With these findings, maybe we should get Dad something culinary-related this Father’s Day…
