Radio Times reader TV poll has interesting results…

The Radio Times polled almost 30,000 readers to find out what their favourite television shows were. You may be surprised...

In another celebration of Radio Times’s hugely impressive 90th birthday, they conducted a reader poll to find out what the nation loved watching most… and you may be surprised to learn that it’s not modern, edgy dramas but series that span back decades!

Topping the list were Only Fools and Horses, Doctor Who and Morecambe and Wise. Oldies but goodies! We guess Doctor Who is both old and new though…

It wasn’t all so vintage though, Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear and I’m a Celebrity… were popular entertainment choices, whilst Sherlock and Downton Abbey made the drama top five.

Radio Times editor Ben Preston said of the results: "Who wouldn't be tempted to stay home for a golden night of British television?

"Everyone had their say in this poll and the great British public have spoken but am I the only person wondering how Wallace and Gromit and Fawlty Towers didn't win a place in Radio Times' hall of fame?"
