We imagine that Christmas must be pretty tense for Mr and Mrs Gallagher, seeing as their sons Liam and Noel now only seem to communicate via insults in the media. This month’s issue of Q magazine – which subscribers should have – is no exception.
Gallagher’s band Beady Eye haven’t been as successful as was expected and Liam thinks the reason is that their sound wasn’t far enough removed from Oasis. "It was done off the back of Oasis, it wasn't progressive enough, it hadn't moved on," he says. "There were good moments but it just didn't connect. This one, people might hate it too but it's not so stuck in its '60s rut. Obviously there's Lennon vibes in there but we've turned it on its head. Not that the pressure's on or anything but it's a really important record for me. If no one buys it, it's back to the drawing board. So we'll see. I'm prepared for whatever."
Noel has been slightly more succesful with his band High Flying Birds, but Liam seems confident that it’s all about to change, after saying his brother looks “sad” and that he "won't be happy when he hears we've done an out-there record that we're going to f**king release before him".
