The winners of the Jameson Empire Awards 2011 will be revealed at a ceremony on March 27th and it is thought that comic book film Kick-Ass may be the big winner on the night, as it is up for six gongs.
Other nominees include multi-award winning The King's Speech, which is up for four accolades, as well as The Social Network and 127 Hours, which each have the opportunity to bag three.
Awards will be given out in categories including Best Actor and Actress, Best Director, Best Newcomer, Best Horror, Best Comedy and Best Thriller.
Mark Dinning, Empire's editor, said: "The past year has produced a truly incredible spread of movies and, as ever, the Empire readers have done us proud in their choices for this year's shortlist."
So far, The King's Speech has dominated the major movie awards ceremonies, scooping seven Baftas and four Oscars, including the Best Film Academy Award.
