Empire To release Five Covers For ‘Best Film Ever’

Leading film magazine marks its 100 greatest movie poll with July special editions.

5,000 film buffs visited www.empireonline.com to have their say on the 100 Greatest Movies ever made, and the definitive list is here. To mark the poll Empire will release on Thursday 15 June a split cover run featuring the following iconic posters:  The Godfather, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pulp Fiction and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

This is the fourth time the magazine has asked its readers to pick their fave flick. The first poll was 21 years ago when Pulp Fiction landed the top spot.

Terri White, editor-in-chief of Empire, remarked: “Nearly 5,000 readers voted in our 100 Greatest Movies poll and when it came to choosing which film should grace the cover, we shared their pain at having to pick between our favourites! So, you know what: we didn’t. Instead we chose five iconic films from the top 20, which means there’s a cover for everyone – or all five if you’re as fanatical about films as us…”
