We love it when a new movie comes out, especially when it’s one that we’ve been looking forward to for a long time and as we read the latest film magazines, such as our Little White Lies magazine subscription, we always hear about them well in advance.
Last weekend it was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy which stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy. The film – which was an adaptation of the British spy novel by John le Carré - topped the UK box-office, knocking The Inbetweeners off the top spot and was well received by film critics.
Tom Hardy seems to be on to a good thing, as his long-awaited movie Warrior was released on Friday, meaning he’s likely to be in two box-office hits at the same time. The film, also starring Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte, tells the story of two estranged brothers who find themselves facing each other in a mixed martial arts tournament, but who will win – the ex-marine or the family man?
Another hotly anticipated film that was released Friday is Drive, starring Ryan Gosling – though those of you with a Little White Lies magazine subscription will already be well aware, as Gosling’s featured on the front cover of the latest issue. He plays a Hollywood stunt driver who, in order to help a friend out, becomes embroiled in a heist which gets out of hand pretty quickly once a contract is put out on him.
Both films are set to do well and were given the thumbs up by those in the know – though after so much hype around both movies, we’d probably want to check them out even if they were panned.
If you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted, you may be interested to know that Tom Hardy isn’t the only actor with two films on the go, Ryan Gosling also has another film out – Crazy, Stupid, Love. After Steve Carrell’s wife leaves him, he enlists the help of ladies man Gosling to get him back in the game. In the meantime, Gosling may have found the one...
We’d definitely recommend going to see at least one of the films and make sure you enlist the help of your Little White Lies subscription to keep an eye out on the next screen gem.
