The mag which celebrates all things European will soon be bringing its stories from the continent to its readership in a completely new way, as it looks to move from its design to a tabloid format.
The award-winning title – launched in the wake of 2016’s EU referendum – will now be published on Thursday, and will be a bigger 64-page paper.
“We've asked our subscribers and they've told us it's not the size of the paper that matters but the fresh alternative to old established media,” Matt Kelly, the mag’s editor, told InPublishing. “The New European will be smaller in size, bigger in pages and every bit as brilliant as it is today. Plus, you won't be knocking elbows with people on the bus or train when you read it."
The paper features Alastair Campbell as Editor-at-large and Iain Dale as Election Diarist. It has also run exclusive contributions from Tony Blair, Bonnie Greer and Hardeep Singh Kohli, and has won a number of awards since its launch including the Chairman’s Award at this year’s Press Awards and Launch of the year at the British Media Awards.
