Beyonce's Lemonade Sparks Fan Speculation

The surprise release of Lemonade, Beyonce's sixth album, has thrown up some major questions about Queen's Bey and Jay Z's marriage...

Beyonce latest surprise album, Lemonade, coinciding with a one-hour long special on HBO of the same name, has been devoured and digested by her hordes of fans, with many linking the apathetic lyrics and allusions to infidelity to a rift between Queen Bey, who recently gave a rare in-depth interview to ELLE UK, and her long-time beau, Jay-Z.

“He better call Becky with the good hair,” Mrs. Carter spits in the track Sorry, leading many to believe that the competently coiffured ‘Becky’ is the woman with whom Jay-Z is said to have had extra-marital dalliances.

In a further twist, fashion designer and Jay Z’s ex-business partner’s wife, Rachel Roy, took to Instagram to post a cryptic message that may suggest some involvement on her part: “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, or self truths, always. Live in the light.”

Roy’s puzzling post, combined with her prior links to Jay-Z and persistent rumours over the years of a fling between them, has whipped Bey’s fans up into a frenzy of accusations, and speculation over the state of the world’s most powerful pop couple’s marriage.

In 2014, we saw Solange Knowles physically attacking Jay in an elevator at the Met Gala, but there was no indication of why Beyonce’s sister would want to pound on her brother-in-law like that – could ‘Becky with the good hair’ be the reason behind Solange’s sudden savagery?
