Starbucks launches posh coffee range

Marketing magazine subscription holders can read about the launch of Starbucks' new high-end coffee brand.

The company has unveiled Starbucks Reserve, which is made from single-origin beans.

It has been blended to take advantage of consumers' growing interest in rare coffee, reports Marketing magazine, the target audience being drinkers who like fine food and wine.

A number of UK stores will stock the range, including coffee from Indonesia, Nicaragua and El Salvador, from March.

Darcy Willson-Rymer, Starbucks UK managing director, said: "Our buyers occasionally discover exceptional coffees that are only available in limited quantities.

"Starbucks Reserve allows us to share these unique flavours that really showcase the expertise of our coffee farmers," reports Marketing magazine.

The coffee giant opened its first store in the US in the 1970s. Since then, it has gone from strength-to-strength and now boasts being in more than 15,000 locations around the world.
