Newsweek's new editor-in-chief making changes at the magazine

People with a Newsweek magazine subscription will have read the first issue by new editor-in-chief Tina Brown, but what will they think of her changes?

People with a Newsweek magazine subscription may see some changes to the publication in the coming months, following the appointment of new editor-in-chief Tina Brown.

Ms Brown, who has worked on magazines including Tatler, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker over the course of her career, launched her new version of Newsweek in March, with Hilary Clinton on the cover and articles including 150 Women Who Shake the World.

Speaking about the new Newsweek in a recent interview with the Guardian, Brown said that it involves mixing the publication's traditional political pieces with glossy photojournalism and health, fashion and food features.

"News and pleasure are a good combination," she added.

Brown has also brought a host of writers onboard since taking the reins at Newsweek magazine, including veterans such as Howard Kurtz, Peter Boyer and Andrew Sullivan.

So far, Brown's redesign has attracted mixed reviews, however, people with a Newsweek magazine subscription may be pleased to hear that it shares many similarities with older issues of the magazine.
