Brangelina's Most Romantic Cover Stories

The emotional rollercoaster that was ‘Brangelina’ may well be over, but their iconic magazine covers together will live on forever…

How much more will 2016 take from us? Though the scars left from the untimely end of Bowie, Alan Rickman and Hiddleswift may well still be healing, the year’s unstoppable advance into winter has brought with it yet another high profile casualty: Brangelina.

When news broke yesterday that Jolie was not so jolly with Pitt’s poor parenting anymore, there was widespread panic – not least because the sequel of Mr and Mrs Smith was now firmly, and irreversibly, off the table. But fear not, avid isubscribers, because we can still look back at the couple’s magazine covers, continuing to give us a snapshot of celebrity’s most powerful couple long after everyone’s forgotten about By the Sea

In July 2005, W! Magazine ran a cover with a then-not-quite-together-but-a-bit-together Brad and Angelina posing as a married couple in the 1960s. The special edition featured a 60-page portfolio by photographer Steven Klein, but even this shoot is steeped in controversy – Pitt was still with former flame Jennifer Aniston at the time, and the intimate shots of Jolie and himself appears to foreshadow their eventual implied infidelity and the birth of ‘Brangelina’.

Once the not-so-secret news about Brad and Angie went public, it was only a matter of time before the pair started breeding tiny, beautiful super-humans to aid them in their quest for world domination. And lo! People magazine did secure the rights to baby photos, and two iconic covers showing the proud parents cradling first daughter Shiloh in 2006, and then twins Knox and Vivienne two years later. The biological babies joined Brangelina’s growing brood, completed by adopted children Maddox, Zahara and Pax.

After a decade together, Brad and Angie finally made their union official - mainly to please their brood of children, who had wanted the pair to marry for years. Angelina wore a beautiful dress decorated with the kids' drawings, and People and Hello carried the exclusive inside shots of their ceremony.

Though Brangelina may well have split, the legend of celebdom’s two brightest stars will live on in the rich tapestry of Hollywood lore, and for your chance to spy the next generation of Tinseltown titans grab a subscription to W! Magazine.
