A Britney Spears Biopic is Coming Soon

Britney Spears will be the subject of an upcoming Lifetime film…

Only days before the superstar’s latest record release, it has been reported that Britney Spears will be getting the biopic treatment from Lifetime.

Natasha Bassett, who recently starred in the Coen Brothers' comedy Hail, Caesar!, will portray the hit singer.

The film will detail what Lifetime have described as the "tumultuous true story" of Britney's personal and professional life. This is not an authorized biography however, and Britney isn't too happy about it!

“Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing,” her management told TIME.

The two-hour film will begin with Britney’s early career as a little girl from Louisiana, and her infamous relationship and breakup with fellow singer Justin Timberlake. It will then touch on how her parents' divorce affected her, before examining her failed marriages to Jason Alexander (that was annulled a couple days later) and then Kevin Federline, whom she married later that year.

The singer's breakdown, the lost custody of her sons, and her triumphant come back will all be undoubtedly dramatic moments in the film.

Britney, who literally grew up in the public eye, has been making a comeback over the last few years, and will be releasing her ninth studio album, Glory, on Friday. Later today, she will be appearing on the CBS' The Late Late Show, singing along to some of her greatest hits with James Corden for his "Carpool Karaoke". The ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ singer, will also be making her grand return to the MTV Video Music Awards with a performance on Sunday! Britney is offically back!
