Whitelines snowboarding magazine has congratulated Scotsman Ben Kilner on becoming the first UK rider to be sponsored by Protest.
The Banchory-born Olympian has established himself as Britain's biggest halfpipe star, managing a semi-final spot at the Vancouver Games last winter.
Such performances have caught the eye of Protest, with the brand choosing to invest in Kilner's career.
"We identified Ben as a British athlete with huge potential and hope that we can help him develop further as a rider in the coming years," the company said.
According to Whitelines, Kilner plans to rip it up in slopestyle and big air competitions in winter 2010/11 to help develop his skills away from the halfpipe.
The star told the magazine after this year's Winter Olympics that he would happily go through another four years of preparation to have another crack at the gold, which this year was won by US superstar Shaun White.
The American shredder essentially won the final with his first run, but still put on a show for the crowd with his second run, nailing a double cork, 1080 and a double McTwist.
