So today's the day we've all been waiting for... The London 2012 Olympic Games are finally here! The athletes have been arriving from all over the world for the past two weeks, preparing themselves for their various events which officially begin tomorrow, which those of you with an Athletics Weekly subscription are no doubt quite excited about!
After years of talking and planning, it's hard to believe that the Games are about to start and despite occasionally grumbling about hearing so much about it, we're all very excited at the iSUBSCRiBE.co.uk office. How many times in a lifetime does the city you live in host the Olympic Games, after all?
We have no doubt that sports fans will be glued to the Games for the next two weeks, cheering on Team GB (or wherever their heart lies). We're hopeful that a few of our athletes can do well this year - Jessica Ennis, Tom Daly, Ben Ainsley, Bradley Wiggins and Andy Murray are all in the running for gold medals.
It's been a big year for the UK with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, a Brit winning Tour De France and Andy Murray reaching the Wimbledon final - almost enough glory to make us forget about the England team's Euro disappointment - but it gives us hope that we can do well in the Olympics, especially as the whole nation will be watching on home ground.
