Melanie Slade and Theo Walcott were invited to dinner by David and Victoria Beckham ahead of the 2006 World Cup.
Melanie Slade has revealed that some advice from David and Victoria Beckham has helped her deal with the media, FourFourTwo magazine subscription holders are set to find out.
Speaking to the magazine, the 20-year-old stated how she had no idea of what clothes to wear when she was invited to dinner at the celebrity couple's Portugal villa along with her partner - Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.
The invitation was given when Walcott was selected by former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson as part of his 23-man squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Slade told FourFourTwo: "I was only there for three days, so I only packed a few things, then the Beckhams invite us round for tea. I didn't know what to wear.
"We spoke about how they cope with the attention and they told us it's important to keep some things personal. They were really nice and friendly, so different to how I thought they'd be. Victoria even gave me some of her Victoria Beckham jeans."
England were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup after losing on penalties to Portugal, with Walcott failing to play any part on the pitch throughout the whole tournament.
