Record number of gold medals for Britain!

It looks like being on home turf is serving us well as Great Britain have just achieved their highest number of Olympic Gold medals in 104 years.

We now currently have 22 gold medals after we just took golds for both dressage and cycling - those of you with a Horse magazine subscription will be pleased to know. The dressage gold meant that we beat our total of 19 medals from the last Olympic Games in Beijing already, and we've still got a few days left to win more!

We now have a total of 47 medals, leaving us in third place behind China and the USA (though, we've worked it out as medals averaged over population and we're technically beating them, just so you know!).

We're glad that Team GB are doing us so proud and it makes all of the stuffed tube journeys and cramped pavements all seem worthwhile in the end. Give us a bike, horse or a pair of oars and we can do no wrong it seems.
