Title: Horse & Hound
Horse & Hound magazine has revealed that event rider Harry Meade is to marry his girlfriend of three years.
Introduced by a mutual friend, the pair now live together in the village of Luckington and got engaged at the course where the Badminton Horse Trials take place.
Mr Meade told the magazine that he had been waiting for the perfect time to propose to Rosie Bradford - a 30-year-old primary school teacher.
He recently retired his 20-year-old horse Midnight Dazzler and therefore had no ride for the Badminton event.
However, as the couple live nearby, Ms Bradford suggested that they took a walk to view the course the day before the competition.
"I'd been waiting for the right moment to propose for some time, it was a beautiful evening and the park was empty. With hindsight it seems rather appropriate," he told Horse & Hound.
An October wedding is now planned in Ms Bradford's home village of Yanworth in Gloucestershire.
Midnight Dazzler was retired after minor injury forced him out of the Badminton event, with Mr Meade saying that he did not want to risk his trusty steed's wellbeing any further.
