Drivers warm up for Bahrain Grand Prix

Formula One drivers begin warming up for the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend, whilst Hamilton hints at Mercedes struggle.

Much like last year there have been protests as to the Bahrain Grand Prix taking place in the troubled country, however the show must go on and so the Formula One racing drivers have spent the past couple of days warming up for this weekend’s main event, as we’re sure those of a you with an F1 Racing magazine subscription will know.

Today gives drivers a chance to acclimatise to the new surroundings, heat and just generally let everyone know what can be expected from them.

Lewis Hamilton has hinted that Mercedes may struggle a little this weekend. “We not as far off as we might look today but there is a lot of hard work ahead and it will be a tough battle for us this weekend,” he said. “I had some issues in P1 which we were able to improve for this afternoon so that’s a positive, but we need to identify where we are losing time and find more performance. We have changed the set-up of the car to what we thought would suit this track but we need to look at that and make sure it is the right direction to go. The heat here is so hard on the tyres so another positive is that we did as many laps as possible to look at long runs and race preparation.”

After the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Formula 1 season will take a short break until the 10th May when they’ll head over to Spain for the race at Circuit de Cataluña.
