According to the publication, Sunderland's Darren Bent is pondering a deal to move to Midlands side Aston Villa.
The England hitman handed in a transfer request at the Stadium of Light this week and Villa are said to have made an £18 million bid for him, reports Match magazine.
If Bent goes to the West Midlands team, it will be their biggest ever transfer, smashing the previous amount they paid for England star James Milner, who moved to Manchester City last year.
Villa currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League, just outside the relegation zone, while Sunderland are much further up the table in sixth spot.
Former Villa manager Martin O'Neill, who left the club just after the start of the 2010/11 season, has reportedly ruled out going to lead West Ham.
The Hammers have confirmed Avram Grant will stay at Upton Park, a statement on their website said they were "committed" to having him as their manager, reports Match magazine.
