If you live anywhere near Aintree or having a Racing Ahead magazine subscription, then you’ll already be well aware that The John Smith’s Grand National kicked off today.
The event runs from the 12th-14th April, starting with Liverpool Day today, Ladies Day tomorrow and finally the Grand National Day on Saturday.
Liverpool’s finest have been gathering at the race track today to watch the first day of the horse races – with Scouse celebs such as Wayne and Coleen Rooney along to watch too – all dressed to impress.
Big Buck’s broke records by claiming his 17th straight career win with jockey Ruby Walsh, the previous record of 16 straight wins was held by Sir Ken in the 1950s.
The fun will continue for the next two days, but of course the whole nation will be placing their bets for Saturday’s race – so best of luck to you all!
