The Scot said: "As I get older I learn how to deal with things better. We all make mistakes when we are younger," report Tennishead magazine.
"I am learning how to deal with my mistakes and move on from them."
The tennis star reached his third Grand Slam final in Melbourne at the beginning of the year, but he lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
"I have been thinking a lot about the future and not the past," the 23-year-old said.
"It has been a huge benefit for me. I am focussing more on the future now," reports Tennishead magazine.
This week, the draw for the Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells took place.
Murray, the fifth seed for the tournament, will play either Potito Starace or a qualifier in his first match.
