Rihanna helps GQ celebrate their 25th anniversary

GQ magazine turns 25 this month - Rihanna appears on the cover in a photo directed by Damien Hirst.

We didn’t think seeing Rihanna half naked could shock us anymore, but that was until we saw the cover of GQ’s special 25th anniversary edition. On the cover of the December issue RiRi can be found naked in a Medusa-like pose with snakes wrapped around her head and neck, with her arms carefully positioned over her chest. The photo shoot was art-directed by none other than Damien Hirst.

The issue itself is a cracker too! The special bumper edition pays tribute to British music and British heritage brands with a fantastic photo shoot, featuring Paul Weller in Huntsman, Sir Elton John in Richard James, Jarvis Cocker in Edward Sexton, Dizzee Rascal in Gieves & Hawkes, Mark Ronson in Richard James, Plan B in Norton & Sons, Miles Kane in Hardy Amies and Jamie Hince in Alexander McQueen.

Dylan Jones, Editor of British GQ says: “25 years is an eternity in which we at GQ have seen the tectonic movements of sexual mores, career definitions and status anxiety, a quarter of a century in which men have continued to define themselves, through ambition, through creativity, through the ever changing prism of masculinity, and through their positions of fathers, sons, husbands and lovers… Here’s to the next 25 years.”
