Syal rose to prominence on British screens through her involvement in Goodness Gracious Me, while she also appeared as Ummi in The Kumars at No. 42.

The 48-year-old actress has more recently been busy starring in Holby City, where she plays the role of consultant Tara Sodi.

Syal married for a second time in 2005 to Sanjeev Baskar and in the same year she gave birth to her second child Shaan, having previously had a daughter called Chameli with previous husband, journalist Shekhar Bhatia.

Meanwhile, in the June issue of the magazine she also speaks about having to wear a swimsuit on stage.

Elsewhere, book reviewer Fanny Blake highlights what people should be reading this month, while a diet is uncovered that will allow people to drop a dress size in six weeks.

Furthermore, individuals with a busy summer planned may benefit from some fashion tips, highlighting what to wear for a host of different events, including weddings and a day at the races.
