If you have a Simply Crochet subscription then you may be interested to know that the team behind the magazine have developed a new app, named Granny Square a Week.
The app – which is available to download on an iPad or iPhone will give users a new granny square to crochet every week.
Debora Bradley, Editor of Simply Crochet, says: "Granny squares are one of the many joys of crochet. They can be very simple – one of the first things most people learn is how to make one – or really complicated. What they all have in common is that each square is a crochet motif, worked in the round from a central circle. Then you make a series of rounds that grow outwards, using chains and clusters of stitches. You can create granny squares in infinite variations of stitches and colours. We're starting the app with our favourite recipe for the perfect basic square, and then every week exploring a different design. You can use them to create cushions, blankets, accessories, tops, skirts and more – pretty much anything you can think of!"
