There are two women in Deal or No Deal host Noel Edmonds’ life… his wife Liz and his dummy Candice, he tells The Daily Mail.
Don’t worry though, it’s not a Lars and the Real Girl type situation! Noel drives a black cab and is constantly being flagged down by wannabe passengers. Liz suggested Noel sit her in the back to deter them.
Candice is now so popular with Noel’s fans that she has a vast wardrobe and even her own Twitter account – with 18,000 followers. She is described on her account as a ‘fashionista, bon viveur, entrepreneur and jet-setting glam guru’.
Liz dresses Candice up before Noel sets off on his daily work journey. “I know its weird,” says Liz. “But at least Noel doesn’t dress her, I do. If it’s nice weather, I think: ‘You can’t be going around with a fur hat on.’ So, I put her in something cooler. It sounds mad, but?.?.?.”
Noel and Liz, who is 20 years Noel, have been married for four years. After a painful divorce Edmonds had sworn never to re-marry, but quickly fell head over heels when he met Liz.
He can still recall the exact moment his life made a definite turn for the better. “October 6, 2006, at 11am,” he says. “Liz was a freelance working for the make-up department at Endemol [the production team behind Deal Or No Deal]. When she came into my dressing room, I knew she was there before I turned round.
“I don’t know what you call it — positive energy or whatever. All I remember is turning round and thinking: ‘There you are at last. There you are.’”
