New iPhone details

GQ magazine revealed some new details about the iPhone HD yesterday, ahead of the official announcement from Apple.

Apple last night (June 7th) announced details of its fourth generation iPhone - the iPhone HD.

However, GQ magazine was on the ball, leaking some of the features to its readers prior to the official announcement, which revealed that the handset would hit the UK on June 24th.

The phone will be slightly smaller than the third generation model, with a five-megapixel camera and flash for capturing photos.

Other features include a "massively improved screen" and the new iPhone OS 4, which will allow users to run more than one application at once.

The example given by GQ is that owners could have Spotify streaming music while they browse the internet.

Speaking of Spotify, there are also rumours that Apple could be set to launch a rival programme that is tied in with the iTunes 10 upgrade.

This would allow its users to stream music over their phone or computer without actually downloading the tracks.

Spotify's service is offered for free with adverts between every few songs. However, users can sign up to the premium service that allows them to stream the music uninterrupted.
