If you've got a Men's Health magazine subscription, you might be horrified to read the results of a survey by the publication about proposals.
A shocking one in four women polled by the magazine said they hated the way in which their husband-to-be had asked them for their hand in marriage.
Some 26 per cent said they wished the moment had been more romantic, original or personal, the Men's Health magazine and The Knot poll revealed.
A third of the women quizzed said they thought their partner's biggest faux pas was daring to pop the question without a ring.
"It certainly is just one single moment, so you can have a lot of hopes and expectations," said Rebecca Dolgin, executive editor of The Knot. "It's not something you have a rehearsal for."
Recently, a poll by meeteez.com revealed women will probably have four long-term relationships and have their heart broken around five times before they find their Mr Right.
