Mary Berry & Jamie Oliver chat to Good Housekeeping

Mary Berry and Jamie Oliver have a catch up in the October issue of Good Housekeeping.

You a big fan of Mary Berry and Jamie Oliver? Well, what if we were told you that they’re actually friends – have been for years – and appear on the cover of Good Housekeeping magazine’s October issue? Hmm, yes. We should think you’re pretty excited!

The pair have teamed up as GH ask them questions about life, love and work.

Talking about why they think one another have become such favourites in the food world, Jamie thinks people warm to Mary. "Mary has always done it very naturally," he tells the magazine. "Our job essentially is to be a Tom Tom or sat nav of a recipe. You want people to get there in the safest way and with guaranteed pleasure."

Mary feels that Jamie has brought cooking to a whole new generation. "Jamie makes it fun for the young. You stayed being yourself," she says.

They both agree that having a good family to back you up is essential when it comes to the pressure of being a TV personality.

“It helps to have a happy home life to keep up alongside your career,” says Mary. “We have got our families to lean on, they have got us to lean on.”

Jamie adds: “If you have got a good family life, it makes all the difference.”
