Kirstie Allsopp talks to Prince Charles in Good Housekeeping

Kirstie Allsopp paid a visit to Prince Charles at Highgrove for a catch up on behalf of Good Houskeeping.

With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 1st anniversary last weekend and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next month, a lot of focus has been on the Royal Family of late. Kirstie Allsopp was lucky enough to catch up with Prince Charles in the June issue of Good Housekeeping.

Kirstie discovered as soon as she got to HRH’s house in Highgrove that they shared a love of crafts and collectibles – off to a great start then!

When Kirstie mentions having already purchased two Diamond Jubilee in case they run out, Prince Charles admits that he has his own memorabilia too...

“I have a collection of commemorative china here. My old nanny gave me one because she thought I’d like it – it is a 1937 George VI Coronation teapot in the shape of a crown – and I still use it because it is such a lovely idea. And I commissioned a special tin to send a piece of wedding cake to staff and others who weren’t able to be at the wedding of William and Catherine last year.”
