Kirsten Dunst is on the couch in Psychologies

Kirsten Dunst has been away from our screens for a while, but now she's back and catching up with Psychologies.

As child actresses go, Kirsten Dunst has done pretty well... She's managed to sustain a credible career since she first caught everyone's attention in Interview with the Vampire back in 1994 at the age of 8 and unlike many "child actors" she's come out the other side relatively unscathed.

Those of you with a Psychologies magazine subscription will be able to get all the gory details in her interview in the August issue.

Whilst many actors who grow up in the limelight tend to turn to alcohol and drugs, Kirsten seems to have kept out of that though she admits that she has recently had to take a few years out due to a battle with depression - the reasons for which, understandably, she doesn't discuss in public.

But now the actress seems to finally be happy. Speaking of her few years out, she says, "I spent so many years working without really paying attention to what was going on with me and why I wasn't as happy as I felt I should be. I feel I've overcome a lot of nagging self-doubts, and things are much better and happier now. I'm moving forward."

One thing that comes across in the interview is how grounded she is - unlike many American actresses her age. She's not in acting for the fame, but because she loves it. "I don't have an assistant, I don't have a chef, I don't live behind gates, I take my clothes to the dry cleaners. I don't live what you'd consider a "movie star" life."
