K9 Magazine subscription holders are being urged to join the Rescue Me initiative by helping out national dog adoption website DogsBlog.com.
In return, they will receive a stylish t-shirt and limited edition campaign wristband, which the publication revealed have been very popular.
"The idea behind the brand was to create a designer product that shows rescue/shelter dogs in a different light to that which they are usually depicted - which is often as charity cases or somehow 'different' to other dogs," said DogsBlog.com.
It claimed that this is not an accurate representation in its experience and suggested that rescue dogs should be seen as "cool, desirable and positively 'mainstream'".
The organisation revealed that it hopes wearers of the wristband and t-shirt will draw praise and conversation from wearing them, which will help spread the message.
