Food and Travel magazine subscription holders will this month be able to find out about a number of "gourmet boltholes" in the UK.
One such eatery is the Lake of Monteith, which is located in Perthshire, Scotland.
Situated on the shores of the country's only lake (all others are lochs), the hotel restaurant offers the best of the area's local produce, including brown trout, wood pigeon and venison.
However, the magazine also encourages guests to take a ferry trip to Inchmahome Priory, which is located on an island on the lake.
The historic site once housed a young Mary Queen of Scots and is a good day trip for those staying at the hotel.
Another potential diversion for foodies could be a class at the nearby Nick Nairn Cook School, which offers tutorials from its highly-trained professionals, as well as the celebrity chef himself.
Guests should also enjoy a bowl of steaming mussels by the fire in the bar or a drink on the terrace overlooking the lake.
The Nick Nairn Cook School offers master classes in B&B and guest house catering, meat, game & poultry and much more.
