Don't deny your chocolate cravings

Slimmers should not deny themselves a little chocolate this Easter, it has been claimed.

Title: Slimming World

Slimming World magazine has some news for dieters that may help make Easter a little more tolerable.

According to the publication, scoffing the odd chocolate egg need not destroy their plans to lose weight.

While binging on anything is not advised, Slimming World head of nutrition and research Dr Jacquie Lavin explained that denying yourself a treat can be counterproductive.

She explained that knowing that chocolate is forbidden will only serve to make it more desirable, making dieters more likely to binge on the sweet foodstuff.

The expert suggested enjoying chocolate in moderation, revealing that people can consume a Cadbury's Dairy Milk Caramel Egg, two Kinder Surprise eggs, or five Terry's chocolate orange mini eggs, in their day and still lose weight.

Dr Lavin pointed readers in the direction of dark chocolate, noting that its intense flavour means people need less to satisfy cravings.

A useful site for dieters is weightlossresources.co.uk, which can help Easter planning by granting access to the calorie content of each egg.
