Dawn French on Woman and Home December cover

Dawn French in Woman & Home on new love, past love and exciting opportunities.

Dawn French has been in the public eye for over 20 years, we’ve seen her weight fluctuate, her career boom and just a few years ago, her marriage crumble.

Woman & Home caught up with her for their December issue to find out what she’s doing with her life now. We can’t help but think how happy and gorgeous she looks.

French wrote her first book, Dear Fatty back in 2009 and it was a huge success. Although she’s no longer the “fatty” she once was, having lost a considerable amount of weight recently, she’s still writing fab books.

Her latest book, Oh Dear Silvia was released at the end of October and for those of you with a beady eye, you might have noticed that she dedicated the book to the new man in her life, Mark Bignell.

“Publicly dedicating my new book to Biggs is a big step. I call him ‘My Anchor My True Love’,” she says. “Biggs doesn't want the limelight. Our relationship is only out there because it was stolen - we were followed by a photographer on the local beach and pictures of us were published. But I can tell you that Biggs is a remarkable person and he is my future - that's really what I want to say. “

We’re glad to hear that she seems happy and also doesn’t look back at her previous marriage with any sadness. “I do want to stress that I have absolutely no regrets about my amazing, long marriage to Lenny,” she explains. “But this is an entirely different thing. It's a separate chapter of my life – a new beginning.”

One question that is on all of our lips though, is when are French and Saunders going to be back on our screens, causing mischief?

“We always talk about things we'll do together. We talked only recently about writing a movie together - and we say ‘we must, we must’, but we then start talking about life and our families and we don't get round to it.”
