Title: Slimming World

The UK is one of a number of developed nations which is struggling with the common issue of obesity.

However, help exists for those who wish to take affirmative action against weight gain and protect themselves against the health problems associated with being overweight.

Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell in 1969 and remains committed to helping people get in shape.

The magazine was launched in 1998, with the aim of providing real life inspiration for its readers, and hit newsstands the following year.

The company behind the publication holds more than 6,500 groups per week across the UK and Ireland, helping around 300,000 members reach their physical goals.

Its policies and practices are decided by a special advisory panel, which includes university experts and government exercise advisor Ken Fox.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2009 the firm expanded into the Republic of Ireland and followed this up by launching groups in the US.

The latest edition of the magazine tells the story of cover star Carly, who managed to get down to a size ten by following a careful routine.

It also has a "new mum special", which shows how a number of mothers lost weight and got into shape after giving birth.
