We told you that the celebrations of The Beano’s 75th anniversary were everywhere and now they’re even hitting the royal family!
In the VIP issue which goes on sale on Saturday, The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay will be making an appearance in different comic strips – Charles alongside The Bash Street Kids and Camilla with Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.
The Beano Editor-in-Chief Mike Stirling said, “We are thrilled to welcome The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay onto the pages of The Beano. We’ve had a blast creating their characters and storylines. It’s not every day you get to write Their Royal Highnesses into The Beano – we hope they like it!”
Whilst Charles teaches The Bash Street Kids about healthy eating, Camilla’s focuses on the importance of reading.
Mike said of the themes: “I think it’s vital that kids are aware of the importance of healthy eating and reading and I hope that having some Royal guidance will make kids sit up and take notice.”
