Bradley Cooper didn’t want an Oscar anyway...

Bradley Cooper tells GQ why he didn't want an Oscar and the tragic moment that changed his life forever.

Whilst his co-star Jennifer Lawrence has just picked up an Oscar for her performance in movie Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper can most recently be seen staring out of GQ’s April cover, his big blue eyes sending shivers down every woman’s spine...

Anyway. Despite Jennifer’s success, Cooper claims that he is not at all envious of her award. “I don’t want to win an Oscar,” he explains. “It would change nothing. Nothing. The things in my life that aren’t fulfilled would not be fulfilled. Career-wise, right now, it’s better that I don’t win one. I don’t want to win. I don’t.”

Sadly, Cooper’s father passed away in 2011 and the actor claims that his death put everything into perspective for him.

“I watched him dying and I was there by his bed watching him, breathing with him, and then I saw his last breath and he was gone. I experienced the whole thing. And that was a watershed moment that I was privileged to experience. And it changed everything. Nothing has ever been the same since.”
