Benefits to solo travelling

Wanderlust has suggested that Brits will find solo travelling very fulfilling.

Title: Wanderlust

Wanderlust magazine has suggested that travelling solo is addictive due to its ability to offer the freedom and opportunity to do what you want.

Editor Dan Linstead explained that following your own interests can be a big draw to travelling on your own.

He added that it is easier to make friends when exploring the earth alone and that people are more inclined to try new things when they are alone.

"You'll feel more confident and empowered. You can do what you want to do, when you want to do it," Mr Linstead noted.

The expert added that travel can be good for those who have recently come out of a relationship, but is also beneficial for couples who wish to go off and pursue their own interests.

Recent research by Leger Holidays showed that half of the UK population have travelled alone, whether their relationship status is single or attached.

However, the Wanderlust editor said that solo travellers should exercise a note of caution and always keep friends and family updated on their location.
