In Your Home magazine, there are some fantastic ideas about making your own Xmas decorations over the festive period.

You need some assorted sized candles, decorative papers, ribbon, buttons, double-sided sticky tape, glue dots and around ten minutes free to make some fancy decorations.

Your Home magazine recommends measuring the paper and cutting a piece slightly smaller than the height of the candle, ensuring it fits around the width.

Then secure the paper with double-sided tape, use the glue dots to add ribbons to the paper and make shapes, such as hearts and stars, to stick on.

For a final touch, add some buttons to embellish them. The magazine warns these are purely for decorative purposes only.

If you're into candles, you might want to consider decorating tea light holders over the festive period as well.
