Despite the dismal weather, spring is on its way, and Ideal Home magazine subscription holders can bring the season inside with floral items.
The magazine suggests that currently the trend is for "over-sized blooms and Victorian-style botanical drawings".
It states that floral patterns can be used anywhere, in any room as long as the pattern selected is "in sync" with the rest of the space.
The publication said that one of the most effective ways to use florals is to create a feature zone or wall and mix them with spots and stripes in complementary colours.
In terms of accessories, it suggests anything "natural, rustic, retro or reclaimed". For a really girly feel, try corsage-adorned pieces.
According to Ideal Home magazine, the best places to go for floral goods are Cabbages and Roses, which sells beautiful patterned fabrics, Cath Kidston, for simple retro pieces, and John Lewis, for wallpapers with contemporary colourings, such as the Indian Summer wallpaper in Mineral.
