US Vogue features Team USA on the cover of June issue

There's an Olympic theme with the Vogue issues... US Vogue now features Team USA in swimsuits on the June issue.

The June issue of British Vogue had a gold theme to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, as well as all of the gold medals the UK will be winning at the London Olympics of course!

US Vogue have also taken inspiration from the Olympics with their June issue’s front cover, which features swimwear-clad Olympic hopefuls Hope Solo, Ryan Lochte and Serena Williams shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Many people have criticised the cover describing it as boring with hardly any use of colour, on a beach – which Vogue USA have used in a number of cover shoots recently, with a lack of high-fashion and Vogue glamour, but we quite like it.

The cover’s gold is not as bright as the UK June issue, but both girls swimsuits are a pale gold, as is the magazine’s logo. Subtle but clear – Team USA are in it to win it. Of course, we are too so we’ll just have to wait and see how it all turns out.
