Actress Scarlett Johansson has shown off her dark side in a new makeup advert for the designers Dolce & Gabbana.

Actress Scarlett Johansson has vamped things up, looking almost unrecognisable, in a new ad for Dolce & Gabbana, people with a Marie Claire magazine subscription may be interested to know.

Looking extremely sexed-up, the blonde bombshell's trademark plump lips are donned with a dark plum colour, complemented by smoky eyes.

The actress, famed for roles such as Natalie Rushman in Iron Man 2, and Anna Marks in He's Just Not That Into You, is reclining on a leopard-print blanket in the ad, dressed in a black bralet and high-waisted corset knickers.

Previously, 25-year-old Scarlett, who is married to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, was the face of D&G's new spring/summer cosmetic collection.

"We wanted to discover a look that truly reflects our ‘story’ from the very beginning - yet truly reflects our reverence for today’s women, epitomised, of course by the divine Scarlett," the publication quoted Stefano Gabbana as saying.

"It addresses what’s so ineffable about a woman - her fierce sensuality anchored by her innermost femininity," added his partner, Domenico Dolce.
