Red magazine reveals women 'would spend £15,000 on IVF'

Red magazine subscription holders can find out the results of the publication's new survey which reveals how much money women would be willing to spend if it meant they could have a baby.

People with a Red magazine subscription might be interested to find out the results of the mag's new survey about how much women really want to have children.

Some 2,000 women aged between 30 and 45 were polled by Red magazine.

On average, they would be willing to spend £15,000 on IVF treatment to get pregnant and one in ten would even be happy to spend £50,000 if it meant they could conceive.

More than 90 per cent would be willing to cut down on saving for the future and everyday activities to fund treatment to conceive, the survey found.

Almost a quarter of those who had undergone IVF treatment had borrowed money or been given money by their family.

Unfortunately, around half (47 per cent) of the women who had tried IVF had not got pregnant, the survey found.

According to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, infertility affects around one in six or seven couples in the UK at some point during their lives.
